~ Governor Greg Abbott has recently appointed John Mason to the One-Call Board of Texas, a regulatory body responsible for overseeing the state's "Call Before You Dig" systems. This appointment is for a term that will end on August 31, 2026.
Mason, who hails from Dallas, brings a wealth of experience to the board. He currently serves as the assistant vice president and senior legal counsel at AT&T. Prior to this role, he worked as a managing attorney for the Public Utility Commission of Texas.

In addition to his professional achievements, Mason is also actively involved in community service. He is a pro bono participant with the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program and volunteers with AT&T Believes.
Mason holds a Bachelor of Arts in Government from The University of Texas at Austin and a Juris Doctor from St. Mary's School of Law. With his extensive background in both law and utility regulation, he is well-equipped to contribute to the One-Call Board's mission of preventing accidents related to excavation activities.
