~ Big Spring, Texas - Governor Greg Abbott has announced that the City of Big Spring has been designated as a Film Friendly Texas Certified Community by the Texas Film Commission. This comes after the city successfully completed a multi-step training and certification process.

Governor Abbott congratulated Big Spring on joining over 200 other Film Friendly Texas Certified Communities. He emphasized the importance of partnerships between the Texas Film Commission and communities across the state in attracting new investments in media production.

Representative Drew Darby, who represents Big Spring in the Texas House, expressed his pride in the city's achievement. He stated that "big things happen in small towns" and praised Big Spring for proving it. He also highlighted some of the unique features of the city, such as its historic Settles Hotel and rich heritage that tells the story of West Texas.

Mayor Robert Moore of Big Spring also shared his excitement about the designation. He stated that their community offers an incredible variety of potential filming locations, from historic landmarks to scenic landscapes. He thanked Governor Abbott and the Texas Film Commission for highlighting their "slice of heaven" in West Texas.
