Rezul News/10722183
ATLANTA ~ Georgia's Net Tax Collections Increase in November
The State of Georgia saw an increase in net tax collections during the month of November, totaling almost $2.4 billion. This marks a $22.4 million increase, or 0.9%, compared to the same period in FY 2025 when net tax collections approached $2.38 billion.
According to the latest report from the Georgia Department of Revenue, year-to-date net tax revenue collections have also increased by $262.7 million, or 2.0%, compared to November 2024 when net tax collections approached $13.02 billion.
However, these year-to-year comparisons were affected by the motor fuel tax suspension due to Hurricane Helene in October 2024. When excluding motor fuel tax changes, revenues for the month of November were down 2.1% from the same period last year, while year-to-date collections were up 1.4%.
The increase in net tax revenue can be attributed to changes within various tax categories:
Individual Income Tax: Individual Income Tax collections totaled roughly $1.13 billion in November, which is a decrease from last fiscal year's total of $1.18 billion, marking an overall decrease of $46.7 million or 4%. The decrease can be attributed to several notable components within Individual Income Tax:
