Governor Kemp praised Maurer's experience and qualifications, saying, "Marty and I also want to thank Scott Maurer for his willingness to take on this new role. Having also been a key partner in the launch of DCS, his years of work and leadership in law enforcement will serve him well as he carries on the department's legacy of professionalism and reliable public safety."
Maurer has been with DCS since its inception in 2015, aiding in overseeing day-to-day operations at one of the nation's largest community supervision agencies.
