Florida: Governor Ron DeSantis Appoints Kevin O'Farrell to the Commission for Independent Education

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. ~ TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - In a recent announcement, Governor Ron DeSantis has appointed Kevin O'Farrell to the Commission for Independent Education. O'Farrell, who holds a PhD, currently serves as the Executive Vice President of Workforce and Strategic Initiatives at Polk State College. He brings a wealth of experience to the role, having previously served as the Senior Chancellor for Higher Education and Workforce Development with the Florida Department of Education. O'Farrell's educational background includes a bachelor's degree in interpersonal and organizational communications from the University of Toccoa Falls, as well as master's degrees in political science and public administration. He also holds a doctorate in curriculum and instruction from the University of South Florida. However, this appointment is still subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
