~ During the Tacoma City Council Economic Development Committee meeting today, Deputy Mayor Joe Bushnell unveiled the Tacoma Minimum Wage Community and Stakeholder Engagement Report. This report was a result of ongoing conversations among Tacoma residents about the impact of fair wages on workers, families, employers, and the local economy.
Deputy Mayor Bushnell recognized the importance of hearing directly from those who would be most affected by any potential changes to minimum wage policies. As a result, he engaged with a diverse group of stakeholders representing various sectors in Tacoma. This included small and local businesses, nonprofit organizations, childcare providers, healthcare organizations, and the Tacoma Anchor Network.
