Columbia Police respond to homicide on Range Line Street

(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia Police responded to a cardiac arrest call on the afternoon of August 12th in the 1300 block of Range Line Street. Upon arrival, officers found the death of 37-year-old Destiny Dunn from Kansas City, Missouri to be suspicious. After further investigation, it was determined that Dunn's death was a homicide.

The victim's next of kin has been notified and the suspect, 35-year-old Nicholas Ayres from Crane, Missouri, has been arrested for domestic assault in the first-degree and murder in the second-degree.

The Columbia Police Department is currently conducting an ongoing investigation and is asking anyone with information about this incident to come forward. A cash reward of up to $2,500 may be given for information leading to an arrest.

This case is being handled under Missouri Statutes 565.050 for assault in the first-degree and 565.021 for murder in the second-degree with case number 2026-007673.
