Columbia: Mill and overlay pavement maintenance scheduled on various City streets, Aug. 3-14

(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia, MO - The City of Columbia Public Works department has announced that starting Monday, August 3rd, Capital Paving will begin performing mill and overlay pavement maintenance on various streets throughout the city. This project aims to improve the condition of the roadways by removing the worn top layer of asphalt and replacing it with a new surface.

According to officials, crews are expected to finish work on Old Highway 63 by the end of Monday, August 3rd, after experiencing some delays due to weather conditions. They will then move on to resurfacing the following streets: Woodrow Street, McAlester Street, South Bearfield Road, Danforth Drive, Wilkes Boulevard, South Ann Street, Dalcross Drive, Westbrook Way, Frontgate Drive, Dunbar Drive, Vistaview Terrace, Granite Springs Drive, Blue Hollow Drive, West Vawter School Road, Glen Eagle Drive,T ip Tree Court,Surrey Court,W estview Terrace,Galloway Court.

The project is scheduled to be completed by Friday, August 14th at 7 p.m., weather permitting. Crews will be working daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. in order to meet this deadline. Temporary lane closures will be necessary during this time and motorists are advised to use caution and consider alternate routes when possible.

To ensure the safety and efficiency of the project, traffic control signs and flaggers will be in place to guide drivers through work zones as needed. In areas where parking is permitted on the streets being worked on, temporary "No Parking" signs will be posted at least 24 hours in advance. It is important for drivers to pay attention to these signs and avoid parking in these areas during designated times.
