To ensure that the grant funds are used effectively and efficiently, there will be a workshop for all recipients. This workshop will provide guidance on how to properly use the funds and also require a post-event report from each recipient. The workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, March 31 at 5:30 p.m. at the Walton Building on South Providence Road.
Juneteenth is an important holiday that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States. It is celebrated on June 19th each year and has gained more recognition in recent years as communities across the country hold events and celebrations to honor this significant moment in history.
The City of Columbia is proud to support these local organizations in their efforts to celebrate Juneteenth and educate their community about its significance. With these grants, they hope to promote unity and understanding among all residents while honoring those who came before us.
