Colorado: Watch: Coloradans Share Their Favorite Train Names
Rezul News/10730778
Denver, Co ~ Denver, Co - The Front Range Passenger Rail District has received an overwhelming response from Coloradans in their search for a name for the new passenger train. In light of this, the district has released a video collage featuring some of the most creative and humorous submissions. They are now inviting all Coloradans to participate in a statewide video contest.
The contest encourages individuals to submit a funny, unique, or clever video explaining why they support their chosen train name and what it represents to them. The most creative and unique submission tied to the winning name will be selected, and the winner will have the opportunity to join Governor Jared Polis and the Front Range Passenger Rail District in person for the official press conference announcing the chosen name.
Videos can be submitted at ridethefrontrange.soapboxx.com. Governor Polis expressed his enthusiasm for this initiative, stating that Coloradans are passionate about expanding convenient access to passenger rail. He encouraged everyone to share their favorite name and why they voted for it, as well as their excitement for more transportation options that will save time and money.

To give a glimpse of the submissions received so far, the District has shared a video mashup featuring some of the entries. One of the first submissions came from Cortney Pfeaster, who works in health research for a nonprofit serving people with intellectual disabilities. Pfeaster was inspired by Governor Polis' call on Instagram to help name the train.
In her video submission, Pfeaster shared her reason for wanting a passenger train in Colorado - accessibility. She highlighted that not everyone is able to drive, making travel between Denver and Fort Collins challenging or unaffordable for some individuals.
The response from Coloradans has been overwhelming, with over 18,000 votes cast within 72 hours of launching the campaign. Two names are currently vying for first place. In light of this momentum, both voting and video submissions have been extended until March 30.
Sal Pace, General Manager of the Front Range Passenger Rail District, expressed his delight at the level of participation and engagement from Coloradans. He stated that the contest has been a fun and exciting way for people to have a say in shaping the new train, which belongs to the people of Colorado.
Media outlets are welcome to use and share the video mashup in their broadcast and online coverage, with credit given to the Front Range Passenger Rail District. Cortney Pfeaster is also available for interviews upon request. For further information or inquiries, please contact Tara Trujillo.
