Colorado Springs: Deceased Motorcyclist Identified in October 2, 2026, Crash Near Barnes Road and Purcell Drive

~ A 48-year-old motorcyclist died after a crash on Barnes Road near Purcell Drive in Colorado Springs, police said.
The Colorado Springs Police Department said it was notified of the crash at 8:07 p.m. Oct. 2. A preliminary investigation found that the westbound motorcycle struck the median, ejecting its rider, who was taken to a hospital. The rider later died from his injuries.
The El Paso County Coroner's Office identified the motorcyclist as Justin Flowers on Oct. 5. Police said the Major Crash Team is investigating and the case remains open.

The crash was the 46th traffic fatality in Colorado Springs in 2026, according to police. At the same point last year, the city had recorded 45 fatalities. Police said 55 traffic-related deaths occurred within the city over the preceding 365 days.
Anyone with information or who witnessed the crash is asked to contact police at 719-444-7000. Anonymous tips can be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 719-634-7867 or 1-800-222-8477.
