DENVER ~ In a recent announcement, Governor Polis has appointed Michael B. Garlan to the Adams County Court in the 17th Judicial District. This decision comes after the previous judge, Honorable Courtney L. Dinnel, was appointed to the Mesa County Court. The appointment is effective immediately.

Garlan brings a wealth of experience to his new role as he has been serving as a Magistrate in the 17th Judicial District since 2023. His focus has been on handling criminal cases. Prior to this, he held various positions including Managing Member at Meza & Garlan, LLC from 2022-2023, Associate at Craig D. Johnson and Associates, P.C. from 2018-2022, Solo Practitioner at the Law Office of Michael Garlan, LLC from 2015-2018, and Deputy Public Defender in the Pueblo Office of the Colorado State Public Defender from 2007-2015.
