City of Long Beach Invites Public to Share Their Priorities for the 2027 City Budget at Upcoming Community Meetings

Long Beach, CA ~ Long Beach, CA - The City of Long Beach is seeking input from community members for the development of its Fiscal Year 2027 (FY 27) budget. In an effort to involve the public in the decision-making process, the city is hosting a series of community budget meetings and providing an online survey for residents to share their service priorities.

The community budget meetings will take place at various locations throughout Long Beach, with one virtual meeting scheduled. The first meeting will be held on Thursday, Jan. 22, 2026 at the Cal Rec Community Center at Ernest McBride Park. This will be followed by a meeting on Saturday, Jan. 24 at Silverado Park Community Center and another on Wednesday, Jan. 28 at Recreation Park Community Center. The virtual meeting will take place on Thursday, Jan. 29 and advanced registration is required to receive the Zoom link. The final two meetings will be held on Monday, Feb. 2 at Doris Topsy-Elvord Community Center at Houghton Park and on Thursday, Feb. 5 at Billie Jean King Main Library.

Interpretation services in Spanish, Khmer, Tagalog and American Sign Language will be provided for all meetings to ensure accessibility for all community members.

For those unable to attend a meeting in person or virtually, an online survey is available on the city's website from now until Friday, Feb. 6. The survey is available in multiple languages and can also be accessed at any open Long Beach Public Library location for those without access to a computer or smartphone.

The City values public input and believes it is crucial in shaping the budget priorities for FY 27. All feedback received through the community meetings and online survey will be shared with the Long Beach City Council before they develop the Proposed FY 27 Budget.
