~ During the latest Council meeting, a resolution was adopted by Councilors Pepén and Flynn to recognize the week of May 17 through May 23, 2026 as National Emergency Medical Services Week. This resolution aims to honor the essential work of Boston Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel.
The resolution acknowledges the crucial role that EMS professionals play in responding to urgent 9-1-1 calls involving illnesses, injuries, and life-threatening emergencies. It also highlights the challenging nature of their job, noting that they often operate in high-pressure situations to provide immediate medical care.
