The population is forecasted to increase 6.6% between 2021 and 2026, adding 2.0 million residents. Seniors 65 and older represent 13.9 percent of Texas' population, or 4.1 million residents. Other large demographic groups include 25 to 29 years (7.7%) and 30 to 34 years (7.3%).
