From Temple University and Power 99 to National Platforms-- From Television Storylines to Real Businesses
ATLANTA - Rezul -- ATLANTA, GA — The Women of Color in Retail Alliance (WOCRA) will convene its 2026 B.I.G. Summit in Atlanta, bringing together women leaders, entrepreneurs, executives, innovators and changemakers for conversations focused on career reinvention, entrepreneurship, leadership, connection and opportunity.
FROM TEMPLE AND POWER 99 TO BUILDING CAREERS WITHOUT BOUNDARIES
Friday, October 2, 2026 9:00 a.m. Hotel Colee, Atlanta, Georgia
WOCRA CEO and Co-Founder Kimberly Lee Minor will sit down with award-winning television host, real estate expert, designer, author and entrepreneur Egypt Sherrod for a candid fireside conversation about the unexpected paths that can lead to extraordinary careers.
Both women attended Temple University, hosted jazz radio programs and ultimately found their way to Philadelphia's legendary Power 99. Minor began at Power 99 as an intern and later worked at the station, while Sherrod built her broadcasting career there and launched her syndicated radio show from Power 99.

Their careers eventually expanded far beyond broadcasting—but the connection remains.
The conversation will explore career pivots, setbacks, calculated risks, resilience, grit and the willingness to reinvent oneself—and why today's careers increasingly require the ability to adapt and create new possibilities.

The Summit will also welcome RhonniRose Mantilla and Colby Muhammad, who portray cousins Chelsea Hamilton and Katherine "Kat" Richardson on CBS' Beyond the Gates, to receive a 2026 B.I.G. Award.
The B.I.G. Award recognizes the broader themes represented by the storyline: women building together, entrepreneurship, innovation and the growing connection between entertainment, storytelling, consumer brands and commerce.
THE BIGGER STORY
The 2026 B.I.G. Summit presents a larger story for today's workforce and business landscape:
Careers are no longer linear. Industries are converging. Reinvention is becoming a professional competency. And relationships can change the trajectory of what comes next.
