Update: Columbia Police respond to shots fired on Alan Lane

(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia Police responded to a shots-fired call on the evening of January 29th at the 4500 block of Alan Lane. Upon arrival, officers discovered a victim with minor injuries in the 3900 block of Clark Lane. As they continued to investigate, they found a second victim with life-threatening injuries at the 1700 block of North Ballenger Lane. Both victims were transported to a local hospital and are currently in stable condition.

The suspect, identified as 23-year-old Ammanuel A. Minuye of Columbia, was arrested and charged with first-degree assault, armed criminal action, and unlawful use of a weapon.

The Columbia Police Department would like to extend their gratitude to all other agencies that assisted during this incident. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact the Columbia Police Department at 573.874.7652 or CrimeStoppers at 573.875.8477.

According to Missouri Statutes, first-degree assault (565.060), armed criminal action (571.015), and unlawful use of weapons (571.030) are all serious offenses that carry severe penalties.
