The NetSys Group Adds Fractional CTO Service for Small and Mid-Sized Businesses in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut
Rezul News/10743062
The Brooklyn managed IT services firm will assign a single technology executive to client accounts alongside its existing security operations and AI automation staff, starting from $5,000 a month.
Rezul -- The NetSys Group Inc. has added a fractional chief technology officer service to its managed IT services practice, the Brooklyn-based firm said. The service assigns one technology executive to a client account alongside the company's existing security and automation staff, and is priced starting at $5,000 a month under a month-to-month agreement.
The engagement covers technology roadmap and budget ownership, vCISO duties including security policy and incident response planning, 24/7 monitoring and ransomware defense, outsourced IT help desk coverage, Microsoft 365 and Azure administration, and the buildout of AI automation for functions such as scheduling, reception and invoice processing.

"The gap we kept running into was accountability," said Jamie Baum, president of The NetSys Group. "A managed services contract covers uptime. It does not cover whether a company's insurance renewal will survive underwriting, or which processes are worth automating. Those decisions were falling to owners without the background to make them."
Demand for outside technology leadership has grown as insurers and enterprise customers extend security questionnaires and cyber insurance requirements further down the supply chain, Baum said. Smaller vendors increasingly carry the documentation obligations of a larger organization without the staff to answer them.
"Most of the AI work we see at this size never gets past a pilot," Baum said. "We scope it against payroll — where people are rekeying data or answering the same call repeatedly — and put the same access controls on it that we would on any other system holding client records."

The company said the structure is intended for organizations that need executive-level technology decisions but cannot support a full-time hire. The service is available in the greater New York metropolitan area, the lower Hudson Valley, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania.
