Texas: Governor Abbott Serves Meals At Kerrville Volunteer Gratitude Luncheon

~ Kerrville, Texas - Governor Greg Abbott, along with representatives from Hunt. Fish. Feed. and Spectrum, came together today to serve meals to volunteers who helped rebuild the Dietert Center after the historic flooding in July. The Dietert Center is the only senior community center in the Kerrville area.

During his visit, Governor Abbott expressed his gratitude to the volunteers and recognized their hard work in rebuilding the community center. He also acknowledged the resilience of Texans and their ability to come together during difficult times.

"You are the heart and soul of this community," said Governor Abbott. "Whether you live here, work here, or eat here, you depend on each other. This is your home, and our collective goal is to ensure that you are safe and secure permanently in your home right here in Kerr County."

The Governor emphasized that Texas is rebuilding stronger than ever before by working together and through the dedication of volunteers following the devastating flooding. He also reassured that the State of Texas will continue to support recovery and rebuilding efforts for those impacted by the July floods across the state.

In addition to thanking the volunteers, Governor Abbott also expressed his appreciation for Hunt. Fish. Feed. and Spectrum for their assistance in providing food and aiding in the recovery process.

Joining Governor Abbott were Texas Division of Emergency Management Chief Nim Kidd, Representative Wes Virdell, Dietert Center Executive Director Brenda Thompson, Hunt. Feed. Fish. Director of Marketing Dave Munroe, Spectrum Communications Vice President of Government Affairs Ned Munoz, as well as other state and local officials.
