Texas: Governor Abbott Participates In Urban Wildfire Response Press Conference

~ Governor Abbott, along with other state and local officials, participated in a press conference at the Texas Firefighter Wildland Urban Interface "Train the Trainer" program. The purpose of the conference was to discuss the growing threat of urban wildfires and the importance of proper training for firefighters.
In his speech, Governor Abbott expressed his gratitude for the brave men and women who serve as firefighters in Texas. He acknowledged their extraordinary heroism, valor, and physical and mental abilities that are necessary to protect those in need. He also highlighted recent incidents where lives were saved due to the quick response and expertise of trained firefighters. These include the Panhandle wildfires and Fourth of July Kerr County flooding. Governor Abbott stated that the state fully supports this training and is willing to provide funding for it.
