Rezul News/10743775
~ San Antonio, TX - Governor Greg Abbott has announced that Industrial Electric Mfg. (IEM) will be establishing a new advanced manufacturing facility in the city, bringing with it a capital investment of $200 million and the potential for up to 3,000 new jobs. The company has been awarded a Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF) grant of $3.36 million to support the creation of 448 of these new jobs.
In his statement, Governor Abbott praised Texas as a leader in America's manufacturing resurgence and highlighted the significant economic impact this investment will have on Bexar County. He also emphasized the state's welcoming business climate, access to domestic and global markets, and highly skilled workforce as key factors in attracting companies like IEM to Texas.
IEM is known for manufacturing power distribution systems, remote power panels, switchgear, and switchboards for various industries. The new facility will be located at Brooks City Base, formerly Brooks Air Force Base in southeast San Antonio. This strategic location will allow IEM to expand its North American manufacturing capacity by leveraging Texas' logistical and workforce advantages.
