Texas: Governor Abbott Announces Governor's Small Business Summit In Rockport-Fulton

~ Governor Greg Abbott has announced that the next 2025 Governor's Small Business Summit will be held in Rockport-Fulton on July 10. This summit, which is held throughout the year and in various regions across the state, aims to support small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs by connecting them with resources and information necessary for starting, strengthening, and growing a business.

In a statement, Governor Abbott emphasized the importance of small businesses in Texas' economy and communities. He stated, "Small businesses are the backbone of our economy and the heart of Texas' vibrant communities." With over 3.3 million small businesses in the state, they play a crucial role in job creation and economic success. The Governor expressed his pride in supporting their growth and encouraged all small business owners and entrepreneurs to attend this summit or one in their region.

The Governor's Small Business Summit - Rockport-Fulton will bring together local, state, and federal resource partners to provide insights on critical business topics. Attendees will also have the opportunity to network with other business owners and meet experts who will share timely advice on a variety of small business topics.

The summit will take place on Thursday, July 10 at 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM at the Fulton Convention Center located at 402 N. Fulton Beach Rd., Fulton, TX 78358. One of the featured sessions is a fireside chat titled "Play-by-Play: Legislative Updates for Texas Small Businesses." The panel will be moderated by Adriana Cruz, Executive Director of Governor's Texas Economic Development & Tourism Office. Joining her as co-chairs are Jeff Burdett from National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) and Glenn Hamer from Texas Association of Business (TAB).

Other panel sessions include "Strategies for Growth: Leveraging State & Local Programs," "Harnessing the Power of Technology for Your Small Business," and "Funding Your Future: Financing Strategies for Small Businesses." The summit will also feature a speaker, Alberto Treviño, Commissioner Representing Labor from Texas Workforce Commission.
