Texas: Governor Abbott Announces Budget And Policy Staff Leadership

~ In a recent announcement, Governor Greg Abbott has revealed the new leadership for the Budget and Policy teams within the Office of the Governor. The governor expressed his confidence in these individuals, stating that they have proven their ability to deliver positive outcomes for the state of Texas.

Leading the Budget and Policy teams as Senior Advisor to the Governor will be Tabatha Vasquez. With previous experience as the Governor's Policy Director and Deputy Budget and Policy Director, Vasquez has also held various positions within the Texas Legislature. She brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her new role, having consulted and managed numerous campaigns for candidates at all levels of government.

Cory Fish has been appointed as Policy Director for the Office of the Governor. Fish previously served as a Budget and Policy Advisor to Governor Abbott before being promoted to Deputy Policy Director. He also has experience working at a trade association and non-profit law firm. Fish holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, a law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School, and a Master of Laws degree from the University of Texas at Austin.

Fisher Reynolds will serve as Budget Director for the Office of the Governor. Prior to this role, Reynolds was Chief of Staff at Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) where he led various initiatives for the business. He also has experience as a Budget and Policy Advisor to Governor Abbott and as an Analyst with Legislative Budget Board. Reynolds is a graduate of Austin Area Research Organization's Frank McBee Jr. Fellows Program and holds Bachelor's degrees in History and Political Science from Marquette University.

Danny Mittnacht has been appointed as Deputy Policy Director for the Office of the Governor. Mittnacht joined Governor Abbott's team during the 89th Legislative Session as a Budget and Policy Advisor covering technology, cybersecurity, financial services, occupational licensing, and housing issues. He brings with him extensive experience in state government, having held various positions in the Texas House. Mittnacht also has a background in campaign management and holds an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin's McCombs School of Business.

Serving as Deputy Budget Director for the Office of the Governor is Jimmy Anderson. Anderson previously worked as a Budget and Policy Advisor focused on tax and economic development matters for Governor Abbott. He also has experience working for the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts and has served on several boards, including the YMCA of Central Texas and the Sobering Center of Austin and Travis County. Anderson is a licensed attorney in the state of Texas, having graduated from St. Mary's School of Law with a Juris Doctor degree and from Texas State University with a Bachelor of Public Administration.

Governor Abbott expressed his confidence in this highly-skilled and qualified leadership team, stating that they will continue to make Texas the premier state for freedom and prosperity.
