Tacoma: In-District City Council Meeting to Take Place on September 30 at STAR Center

~ The Tacoma City Council has announced a change in location for their upcoming meeting on September 30. Originally scheduled to take place at the Tacoma Municipal Building Council Chambers, the meeting will now be held at STAR Center (3873 S. 66th St.) as an in-district, in-person meeting.
Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., with the meeting beginning at 6 p.m. This change is part of the City Council's efforts to engage with the community and address neighborhood concerns. The meeting will include regular agenda items and a community forum, but there will be no option for virtual participation.

Attendees can also look forward to refreshments and childcare services, provided at no cost. In addition, city staff from various departments will be present to answer questions and assist with service requests.
This shift towards in-district meetings allows the City Council to better connect with underserved communities and hear from new voices across the city. The study session scheduled for noon on September 29 will still take place as planned at the Tacoma Municipal Building Council Chambers.
