Rezul News/10744551
DEMOREST, Ga. - Rezul -- State Representative Victor Anderson received a 2026 "Champion of Georgia's Cities Award" from the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) in recognition of his support for Georgia's cities during the 2025–2026 session of the Georgia General Assembly. The award was presented during the Demorest City Council meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 1.
The "Champion of Georgia's Cities Award" is presented at the end of each two-year legislative term to state legislators who have demonstrated strong support for major municipal initiatives and priorities.
During the 2025–2026 legislative term, Representative Anderson carried key pieces of legislation benefiting Georgia's cities, including House Bill 137, which improved the public works bidding requirements, and House Bill 155, which clarified the annexation arbitration process. Further, as Chairman of the House Governmental Affairs committee, Representative Anderson played a key role in shaping legislation affecting local governments, on issues ranging from housing to local government investments to service delivery. His work in the General Assembly helped advance issues important to cities and the residents they serve across Georgia.
