Springfield Police Investigate Motorcycle Fatality at Kansas Expy and Broadmoor

~ Springfield, MO- On May 30, 2021, a tragic motorcycle accident occurred at the intersection of Kansas Expressway and Broadmoor St. The Springfield Police Department responded to the scene at 1:03 p.m. after receiving reports of a motor vehicle crash.

According to authorities, 19-year-old Nathaniel Likins from Republic, MO was driving a 2008 Kawasaki Ninja southbound on Kansas Expressway towards Broadmoor when he lost control of his vehicle. The motorcycle struck the curb along the median and veered off the road before colliding with a tree.

Sadly, Likins was pronounced dead at the scene and his next of kin has been notified. The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing. This marks the sixth fatal motor vehicle accident in Springfield this year.
