Sign types from xsign displayed as Royal Papworth Hospital officially unveiled
Rezul News/10426535
CAMBRIDGE, England - Rezul -- The Royal Papworth Hospital has been officially unveiled with a visit from HM The Queen. The hospital offers world-class heart and lung surgery to patients in need of live-saving treatments. xsign have supplied the sign types that feature internally and externally.
The work at Royal Papworth Hospital began several years ago. Key Account Manager, Sarah Pugh, engaged with the on-site contractor on the initial plans for the buildings and where sign types would feature. Following several consultation processes, Sarah devised a sign scheme that would allow for interchangeability of the signage and wayfinding. The resulting scheme is a flexible suite of sign types that provide modern and clear wayfinding directions, crucial in hospital environments.
Once the signage scheme had been devised, Sarah began working more closely with Colin Glen, on-site project manager for Royal Papworth Hospital, on the installation and delivery of the project. Following several site visits to discuss the progress and make any changes, the sign installation was completed in 2018.

Sarah said: "It's great to see the hospital officially unveiled by HM The Queen. A lot of hard work from NHS staff went in to creating such an incredible healthcare centre. The logistics of moving from one site to the other was immense. It's great to see our signs displayed throughout, providing a vital wayfinding solution, often in time-critical circumstances."
The signage scheme includes both internal and external signs. Internally, xsign have provided a range of directory boards, projecting signs and suspended signs on 4mm frosted grey with ultra-high resolution direct digital print, for excellent clarity and legibility.
Externally, large, LED-backlit cut letters display the entrance to Royal Papworth Hospital. For more information about hospital signs from xsign, visit the company website. https://xsign.com/spaces/hospital-signs-2/
