Precision Healthcare Specialists welcomes Chetan Vedvyas, MD, dermatologist and Mohs surgeon

FORT MYERS, Fla. - Rezul -- After a decade serving patients in Southwest Florida, Dr. Chetan Vedvyas joins Precision Healthcare Specialists in Fort Myers to provide cutting-edge dermatology and Mohs surgery care to patients.

As a Harvard-trained, double-board-certified, fellowship-trained Mohs micrographic surgeon and dermatologist, Vedvyas brings extensive experience in dermatology, research and advanced procedural dermatologic oncology therapeutics to Precision Healthcare Specialists. Mohs surgery is a state-of-the-art skin cancer treatment in which a surgeon precisely removes and microscopically analyzes layers of skin cancer before reconstructing the area.

Vedvyas graduated summa cum laude from New York University with an honors degree in psychology. As an undergraduate, he was a two-time awardee of competitive research scholarships for his work on infectious diseases at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Later, Vedvyas completed his medical degree from Harvard Medical School, where he was also awarded a PASTEUR clinical research fellowship for his research in serum markers that predict patient outcomes in critical illness. After completing his medical internship at Harvard Cambridge Hospital, he proceeded to the No. 1-ranked dermatology residency at New York University. Following his residency, he completed the nation's leading fellowship program in Mohs micrographic surgery at Houston Methodist Hospital.

A diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, Vedvyas has been published in multiple peer-reviewed journals for his work on Mohs surgery, dermatology and other research areas. He is a member of the American College of Mohs Surgery, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and the American Academy of Dermatology.
