November 2025: Colorado Springs Airport Monthly Traffic Release
Rezul News/10723367
~ Colorado Springs Airport Sees Decrease in November Passenger Traffic
According to the latest report from the Colorado Springs Airport, there has been a 5.6% decrease in total passengers during the month of November. This decrease is attributed to various factors such as seasonality, the U.S. government shutdown, and flight restrictions mandated by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
The airport, which serves as a key travel hub for the Pikes Peak region, saw a total of 184,377 travelers pass through its terminal last month. While COS was not included in the FAA's list of 40 airports with flight restrictions, operations from those airports directly contributed to 74 cancelled flights at COS.
Despite this decrease in passenger traffic, the Colorado Springs Airport remains focused on strategic and long-term growth through expanded air service offerings and airline partnerships. In line with this goal, the airport has recently launched its FlyMyAirport tool on its website (flycos.com), allowing passengers to easily find and book travel options exclusively from COS.

In addition to this, the airport is also gearing up for its first Art at COS exhibition which is set to open in mid-January after submissions closed on December 13. Southwest Airlines' seasonal international service to Cancun (CUN) has also returned on select fall, winter, and spring dates with tickets currently on sale for December 20 and 27, 2025; January 3, 2026; March 7, 14, 21, and 28, 2026; and April 4, 2026.
Southwest Airlines has also announced that their service to San Antonio (SAT) will return for peak days during the holidays including December 1st and January 2-4 of next year. Additionally, their service to Houston (HOU) will increase to daily starting March 5th.
The airport has also completed modernization updates for Gates 1 and 3, as well as activated a temporary exit ramp at Gate 1 to ensure uninterrupted passenger flow from the concourse to the baggage claim area. Ongoing construction for the concourse entry and exit ramps is expected to be completed by early summer of 2026.
Other notable updates at the Colorado Springs Airport include the completion of the Terrazzo and Dormakaba (exit lane breach control system) located within the meet & greet area in January of next year. Evolve by Hudson, a new business, has also officially opened its doors on November 21st.

With up to three departures daily to Denver (DEN), passengers can easily connect coast-to-coast. There are also three daily destinations with easy connections coast-to-coast and worldwide.
