The study which ranked 219 of the largest U.S. cities, was based upon the following factors:
• Mean salaries for real estate agents in each city
• A cost of living index
• The availability of jobs for real estate agents as measured by location quotient
Key Findings
• The #1 city for Real Estate Sales Agents is Midland, TX, which offers an average salary of $111,560, and has 3% lower cost of living than the rest of the nation. The city hosts 149% more jobs for Real Estate Sales Agents on a per-capita basis compared with the U.S. average.
• The best cities for Real Estate Sales Agents are midsize and large cities, with 9 of the top 10, and 44 of the top 50 cities having populations over 150,000. Larger and midsize cities intuitively makes sense because of the dense marketplace and transactional nature of a higher population.
