~ Mesa Police Department to Conduct DUI Enforcement Operations on Cinco de Mayo

As the Cinco de Mayo celebrations approach, the Mesa Police Department is gearing up to ensure the safety of roadways. On May 5th, 2026, the department will be conducting DUI enforcement operations as part of their ongoing efforts to keep the streets safe. This initiative is also in support of the Governor's Office of Highway Safety.

The enforcement activities associated with the Cinco de Mayo DUI Task Force will be concentrated during peak hours from 5 p.m. to 3 a.m. The task force, which is an annual local enforcement activity, has a clear mission - to remove impaired drivers from the roads and create safer streets throughout the valley. The ultimate goal is to decrease the number of vehicle collisions related to impaired driving.
