Mesa: Enjoy Fall Fun: Register Now for Parks and Recreation Fall Programs

~ As the summer heat continues to scorch Mesa, Arizona, residents can look forward to the upcoming fall season and all the exciting programs and activities that Mesa Parks and Recreation has to offer. Registration for these programs is now open for Mesa residents for the 2026 fall season, which includes the months of August, September, and October.

Mesa Parks and Recreation prides itself on providing a wide range of programs and activities suitable for people of all ages and abilities. For adults, there are options such as pickleball leagues and lessons, co-ed and women's volleyball, softball, tennis leagues and lessons, as well as Recess for Adults. This program offers a new sport or game each week to keep things interesting.

Youth sports and clinics are also available, including cheerleading and soccer clinics, co-ed and all-girls NFL flag football, NFL flag kinder clinic, and Playball multi-sport. Teenagers can also get involved in various activities such as tennis leagues and camps, pickleball lessons, flag football, junior tennis camps, Teen Pumpkin Paint Night, and Teen H.Y.P.E. (Helping Youth Produce Excellence) teen leadership initiative.

For those with special needs or disabilities, Mesa Parks and Recreation offers adaptive recreation options such as swimming, bocce ball, golfing opportunities at Game Room Night or TGIF activities. There are also hobbies and special interests catered to in the fall program lineup. These include youth beginner's ice skating (ages 3+), Lego Masters (ages 5-11), all-star gymnastics (ages 4-6), Mat Monkeys - Martial Arts for Kids (ages 4-6), Tai Chi for Wellness (ages 16+), and belly dance basics (ages 16+).

In addition to these programs, there are other offerings such as lap swim at Skyline and Kino Aquatic Centers; drop-in pickleball, tennis, basketball, and volleyball; swim lessons for all ages; and after-school programs. Mesa Parks and Recreation also has some exciting special events planned for the fall season, including A Summer Birthday Party on September 5th, Skate Party at the Plaza on September 26th, Celebrate Mesa on October 10th, and Pumpkin Splash on October 25th.

To access a full list of programs and activities offered by Mesa Parks and Recreation this fall, residents can refer to the online PLAYBOOKLite available in both English and Spanish. Additionally, Mesa Parks and Recreation offers free mobile recreation programs such as M.O.R.E. (Mesa Outdoor Recreation Experience), which travels to different parks, trails, and natural spaces Tuesdays through Saturdays with outdoor and nature-based activities. There is also Fun 'N Fitness hosted at Pioneer Park and Kleinman Park Mondays through Saturdays, offering sports, games, crafts, and STEAM activities to encourage residents of all ages to stay active.

Non-residents can begin registering for these programs on Monday, July 13th at 8 a.m. Registration can be done online using the Active Net Registration System or by calling 480-644-PLAY (7529). For those who prefer in-person registration or have questions about the programs offered, they can visit the Mesa Parks and Recreation Office at 708 W. Baseline Road during office hours from Monday to Thursday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Registration forms are available in both English and Spanish for convenience. Residents may also qualify for the Mesa Recreation Scholarship MRS Discount, which provides a 50% discount on youth and adaptive programs. With such a diverse range of activities available this fall season, Mesa Parks and Recreation is sure to keep families active while having fun.
