Long Beach to Conduct Annual Summer Recess for City Council Meetings During June, July
Rezul News/10738518
Long Beach, CA ~ Long Beach, CA - The City of Long Beach has announced that they will be conducting their annual summer recess for City Council meetings. This decision means that the regularly scheduled meetings on June 23, July 7, and July 14 will not take place. Additionally, there will be no meeting on June 30 as City Council meetings are typically not held on the last Tuesday of the month. The normal schedule for City Council meetings will resume on Tuesday, July 21.
This practice of taking a legislative recess during the summer months is common among jurisdictions. The City of Long Beach's decision to do so aligns with the State of California and other major cities in the state.

While there will be a break in City Council meetings between June 23 and July 14, councilmembers will still remain engaged with their constituents. This time off from official meetings will also provide them with more opportunities to participate in local community events and activities happening during the summer. The City does not anticipate any negative impacts on its business due to this recess.
It is important to note that this summer recess only applies to City Council meetings. Commission and Committee meetings scheduled for June and July will continue as planned and their agendas can be accessed through the City's OneMeeting portal.
