Liquid Breathwork Opens Fall 2026 Breathwork Certification Cohorts in Phoenix and Online

A small Arizona practice trains new facilitators in a surrender-based method, with a registered nurse co-teaching and every price on the page.

MESA, Ariz. - Rezul -- Liquid Breathwork is opening three Breathwork certification cohorts this fall: a live 12-week online cohort starting October 6, and three-day in-person intensives in the Phoenix area on October 23 to 25 and November 6 to 8. The September intensive sold out. As of September 4, the practice holds a 5.0 average across 45 Google reviews, all of them five stars. Ryan McBurney founded Liquid Breathwork in Mesa and has guided Breathwork since 2018. He leads the teaching. Shelby Von Oepen, RN, BSN, co-founded the practice and co-teaches every cohort. Both teach the science of the breath; Shelby adds fourteen years of nursing to the safety and physiology side. The method is surrender-based and built around the sigh of relief. Long exhales, breath holds, music, and a sound bath, with no screaming and no cathartic theatrics. "We've invested about $20,000 in our own Breathwork trainings and certifications, and honestly some of the most expensive ones taught us the least," said McBurney. "So we built the training we wish we'd had. Small groups, both of us teaching the science, and you practice facilitating real people before you graduate. We issue our own certificate and we don't hold any third-party accreditation. The one Breathwork accreditation out there, the GPBA, requires a program to run at least nine months. We don't think it takes nine months to be ready to hold a session. Many of our students start giving sessions within weeks of training, one-on-ones and group sessions with their own clients." Tuition is $1,497 for the online cohort and $1,997 for a Phoenix intensive, with the first three seats in each in-person cohort at $1,697. Monthly payment plans are available. Sisily Chevalier, who certified at the August 2026 Lake Tahoe intensive, told the September graduates' call: "You're changing my life right as we speak. I did two sessions this week and they went very, very well, and the ladies both booked for next week for paid sessions. I have two this weekend, a double next Wednesday, and I was asked to do a group session." Graduate Brittany Prince wrote on Google: "I have grown my clientele and they are having huge transformations with Breathwork." Graduate Geoffrey Bishop wrote: "Ryan and Shelby are very knowledgeable in the material they present. The pace of the class was well thought out." The reviews page at https://www.liquidbreathwork.com/reviews/ republishes every Google review word for word and answers the "is it legit" and "is it worth it" questions directly.
