Lead Smart Inc Index: 59% of Homeowner Calls Land 9am-3pm, as Google Bills Missed Calls
Rezul News/10747395
The quarterly Home Services Inbound Call Index from Lead Smart Inc counts 163,748 connected homeowner calls. Pest control leads demand, and most calls arrive between 9am and 3pm.
MUNDELEIN, Ill. - Rezul -- Lead Smart Inc, a pay-per-call and lead-generation affiliate network for home services founded in 2008, has released the full-quarter Q3 2026 edition of its U.S. Home Services Inbound Call Index, an open quarterly benchmark of when American homeowners reach a home-service business by phone and which trades they call about.
The edition analyses 163,748 connected homeowner calls placed between 1 July and 30 September 2026 across more than twenty trades. Only calls that connected to a business are counted.
The homeowner calling day is narrow. About 59 percent of connected calls arrived between 9am and 3pm Central and 82 percent between 8am and 5pm. Weekdays carried 85.9 percent of demand, and Monday volume was 3.3 times Sunday's.
That timing matters more this month: since 1 October 2026, according to Google's notice to Local Services Ads advertisers as reported by Search Engine Land, certain missed calls during posted business hours can be charged as leads once the caller waits more than 20 seconds.

Pest control was the largest source of demand at 22.4 percent, ahead of HVAC at 15.8 percent, plumbing at 15.1 percent, appliance repair at 12.1 percent and junk removal at 8.9 percent. Pest control's share rose from 17.1 percent in July to 27.3 percent in September.
Volume and value diverge. Against an all-vertical median publisher payout of $38.50 in Lead Smart's public coverage file (3 October 2026), biohazard pays a $224.50 median, fire damage $199.00 and water damage $192.50, while pest control sits at $42.50, HVAC $37.80 and appliance repair $7.36.
"Everyone in this industry quotes averages, and averages are where the useful information goes to die," said Matthew Zivkovic, founder of Lead Smart Inc. "We see these calls every day, so we publish them every quarter and let people argue with the numbers."
"If your phone is not answered live between 9am and 3pm on a weekday, you are missing the majority of the homeowners who will ever call you," said Seth Pikus, chief executive officer of Lead Smart Inc.
