Kuester Management Group Details Strategies for Boosting Homeowner Engagement
Rezul News/10600170
Kuester Management Group shares tips for getting members more involved in the association.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Rezul -- The HOA board is the backbone of the association, but the work they do is for the benefit of all homeowners. Therefore, it makes sense to encourage members to be actively involved and informed about what goes on in the community. However, this is often easier said than done. Kuester Management Group has released a statement to the press regarding ways the board can enhance member involvement.
"Clear, consistent communication is essential," says Bryan Kuester, President of Kuester Management Group. "Keep homeowners informed about what is going on, whether it is community events, board meetings, upcoming projects, or anything else that impacts them. Give advanced notice so they can plan to attend and let them know what to expect to attract interest."

The board should also create a variety of opportunities for members to get involved, says Kuester. Not everyone wants to serve on the board, but they can be a part of committees or volunteer to help with individual projects or events. Conduct surveys to gather feedback about what they would like to see or barriers that keep them from participating in order to develop possible solutions.
Educating members about ways to share their ideas, whether in writing or presenting at board meetings, can encourage them to be more involved. Make sure they feel heard and respected, even if no decisions can be made on the spot. Follow up as necessary so nothing falls through the cracks.
"Members want to know that their opinions matter," says Kuester. "Make communication a priority and strive to implement changes that they want to see and that make sense for the community. Making it a point to recognize volunteers and celebrate their accomplishments and contributions can be beneficial as well."
