Kristen Hoffecker sworn in as Presiding Judge of Colorado Springs Municipal Court

~ On Thursday, Judge Kristen Hoffecker was officially sworn in as the new Presiding Judge of the Colorado Springs Municipal Court. The ceremony took place at the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum, where Mayor Yemi Mobolade administered the oath of office in the museum's historic courtroom.
In his speech, Mayor Mobolade emphasized the importance of having a fair and trustworthy Municipal Court for the residents of Colorado Springs. He expressed his confidence in Judge Hoffecker's ability to lead the court into its next chapter, citing her experience, character, judgment, and leadership skills.
Judge Hoffecker has been serving as an associate municipal court judge since 2016 and brings over 20 years of legal experience to her new role. She has previously worked as a prosecutor for both the City of Colorado Springs and the Fourth Judicial District Attorney's Office. She has also served as a magistrate judge for Colorado's Fourth Judicial District and as a municipal judge for the Town of Calhan.

Hoffecker holds a bachelor's degree from Michigan State University and a law degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. During her time with the Colorado Springs Municipal Court, she has earned the respect of her colleagues through her fairness, sound judgment, professionalism, and commitment to justice.
In her statement after being sworn in, Judge Hoffecker expressed her gratitude for being given this opportunity to serve as Presiding Judge. She acknowledged the trust placed in her by Mayor Mobolade and promised to lead with fairness, integrity, and respect for every person who comes before their court.
As Presiding Judge, Hoffecker will be responsible for leading the Colorado Springs Municipal Court and its bench of municipal judges. Her colleagues have full confidence in her abilities to fulfill this role with dedication and excellence. The citizens of Colorado Springs can rest assured that their Municipal Court will continue to uphold justice under Judge Hoffecker's leadership.
