Kansas: Brookside Charter School teams up with KC Water
Rezul News/10741272
~ Kansas City, MO - This summer, students at Brookside Charter School have been working alongside KC Water to create a three-dimensional model of planned green infrastructure improvements at Daniel Morgan Boone Park. The project, located in the Town Fork Creek Watershed, will utilize green infrastructure and native plantings to manage stormwater runoff.
The partnership between the students and KC Water marks the largest green infrastructure investment for the city in the next decade. Through a series of hands-on sessions with project team members and city staff, the students have gained valuable knowledge about careers in engineering, landscape architecture, green infrastructure, and community design.
