Juneau: New Dzantik'i Heeni Playground Opens August 19

~ After months of construction, the highly anticipated Dzantik'i Heeni Playground is finally ready to open its doors to the public. The City and Borough of Juneau and the Juneau School District have announced that the playground will officially open tomorrow, August 19th.

Located on the Dzantik'i Heeni Campus at 1600 Renninger Street, the new playground boasts swings and play structures that are sure to be a hit with students and families in the community. To mark this special occasion, a ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, and members of the public are invited to join in on the celebration.

The Dzantik'i Heeni Campus is home to several schools including Juneau Charter School, Montessori Borealis Public School, and Yakoosgé Daakahídi High School. The addition of this new playground will provide students with a fun and safe outdoor space to play and socialize.

Funding for the construction of the Dzantik'i Heeni Playground was made possible through contributions from various sources including the City and Borough of Juneau general fund, the Juneau School Board of Education, the Benito and Frances C. Gaguine Foundation, as well as individual donations.
