Juneau: CBJ Launches New Way to Find Public Notices & Announcements
Rezul News/10744074
~ Juneau, Alaska - The City and Borough of Juneau (CBJ) has announced the launch of a new webpage, dedicated to providing residents with easy access to important public notices and announcements. The CBJ Public Notices & Announcements webpage will serve as a centralized location for meeting schedules, agendas, public hearing notices, and other relevant information.
The creation of this website was prompted by the adoption of Ordinance 2026-10 by the Assembly. This ordinance aims to modernize how CBJ complies with Alaska's legal requirements for public notice. Following its adoption on March 9, 2026, CBJ staff recognized the potential for a centralized webpage that could be developed and maintained using existing resources.
One of the main benefits of this new webpage is its ability to reduce the city's reliance on contractors while also streamlining the publication of information and reducing costs associated with public notices. Unlike traditional methods such as printed newspapers, the webpage allows for prompt posting and access to notices at any time.

As a result of this new initiative, CBJ will be phasing out routine public notices in the Saturday Juneau Empire. Instead, they will expand their outreach to include more local media outlets such as the Juneau Empire, Juneau Independent, KTOO and KINY. These outlets will direct residents to the new Public Notices & Announcements webpage. However, official CBJ public notices will still be posted on bulletin boards at City Hall and can also be obtained from the City Clerk's Office.
For more information about the Public Notices & Announcements webpage, residents can contact the City Clerk's Office at 907-586-5278. The website can be accessed at juneau.org/public-notices. This new initiative reflects CBJ's commitment to keeping residents informed and engaged in local government matters.
