~ Idaho Falls has once again proven its economic strength and resilience, ranking as the No. 2 Best-Performing Small City in the nation in the 2026 Milken Institute Best-Performing Cities Report. This annual report objectively measures economic performance and ranks cities based on 13 metrics across labor market conditions, high-tech impact, and access to economic opportunities.

For the past six years, Idaho Falls has consistently ranked among the top five Best-Performing Small Cities, showcasing its sustained momentum in these areas. Mayor Lisa Burtenshaw expressed her pride in the community's efforts to create an environment where opportunity and innovation can thrive.
