Idaho Falls: Residential Street Sweeping to Begin March 30
Rezul News/10730972
~ Idaho Falls residents can expect to see cleaner streets starting March 30 as the City's Street Division begins its annual residential street sweeping. This effort, which is part of the city's ongoing maintenance plan, aims to remove sand and debris left behind from winter and protect storm drains while also extending the life of city streets.
According to the Idaho Falls Public Works Department, residents can easily find their designated sweeping zone and track progress through an Interactive Street Sweeping Map on their website. The map will also be updated throughout the season to reflect any changes or delays caused by weather or equipment issues. To view specific dates, residents may need to zoom in on the map and allow a few seconds for it to load.
The residential sweeping schedule is divided into zones, with each zone expected to be completed in one day. The Street Division makes an effort to avoid scheduled garbage collection days when possible. Once all zones have been swept, crews will move on to arterial and collector roads before starting another round of residential sweeping. This cycle will continue until October, with updated schedules available on the interactive map.

In preparation for this year's sweeping, crews have already completed work on arterial and collector streets, including those with striping that needed repainting. This has allowed them to begin work in residential areas earlier than in previous years.
To ensure efficient completion of their work, residents are encouraged to move their vehicles off the street on their designated sweeping day. For any questions or concerns about the street sweeping process, residents can contact the Street Division at (208) 612-8490.
With this annual street sweeping effort, Idaho Falls is not only keeping its roadways clean but also protecting its storm drains and prolonging the life of its streets. Residents are reminded to check the interactive map for their designated zone and move their vehicles on scheduled sweeping days for a more efficient process.
