Idaho Falls Ice Arena Opens Oct. 3 With Free Ice Skating Lessons

~ Idaho Falls is gearing up for the start of the 2026-27 ice skating season with the opening of the Joe Marmo/Wayne Lehto Ice Arena on October 3rd. The City of Idaho Falls Parks and Recreation Department has announced that they will be offering free ice skating lessons to celebrate the occasion.
Skaters aged 4 and above are invited to participate in a 30-minute lesson on opening day. Three sessions will be held between 2:30 and 4:30 p.m., with a maximum of 50 spots available per session. Interested individuals must register in advance, and skates will be provided.
To ensure a positive learning experience, skaters will be grouped according to age and skill level before the start of each lesson. This will give participants the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of ice skating in a fun and supportive environment.

In addition to the free lessons, registration is now open for the Ice Arena's Learn to Skate program. This program offers instruction for skaters of all ages and abilities, with separate sessions available for adults looking to improve their skills on the ice.
