Boise, Idaho ~ Boise, Idaho - The first ever Idaho Energy and Mineral Summit was hosted by the Governor's Office of Energy and Mineral Resources (OEMR) today, bringing together a diverse group of policymakers, industry leaders, and community stakeholders. The summit aimed to explore Idaho's growing leadership in energy innovation and mineral development.
Governor Brad Little expressed his excitement for the summit, stating that "at a moment of rapid transformation across the global energy landscape, Idaho is singularly well-positioned to lead with clarity and purpose." He emphasized the importance of bringing together experts and ideas to shape not only the state's energy and critical minerals future but also its broader role in strengthening America's long-term energy security.

The full-day event, titled "Idaho Powering the Future," featured remarks from Governor Little as well as video remarks from Utah Governor Spencer Cox, U.S. Senator Jim Risch, and Congressman Mike Simpson. These leaders discussed Idaho's role in national energy dominance.
The summit included various panels and discussions on important topics such as nuclear energy leadership, regional collaboration with neighboring states like Utah, industry insights from companies like Idaho Power and Hi Tec Solutions, and exploration of Idaho's strategic role in western energy expansion and critical mineral development.
One of the highlights of the day was a keynote address by Forest Service Chief Tom Schultz on the opportunities for energy development on Idaho National Forests. Lt. Governor Scott Bedke also gave remarks at the event.
The summit concluded with a closing session titled "From Earth to Energy," led by the Idaho Geological Survey. Overall, it was a successful event that brought together key players in the energy and mineral industries to discuss important issues facing Idaho's future.
