Homicide Arrest – 1000 Block of South Tacoma Way

~ A suspect has been apprehended by Tacoma Police detectives in connection with a recent homicide on South Tacoma Way. The incident, which occurred on July 6, 2026 at approximately 12:36 a.m., was reported to authorities as a shooting.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered an adult male who had sustained gunshot wounds. Immediate life-saving measures were taken until the arrival of the Tacoma Fire Department. Despite efforts to save him, the victim succumbed to his injuries after being transported to a nearby hospital.

Through their investigation, detectives were able to gather enough evidence to arrest an adult male suspect for the crime. With the assistance of Tacoma SWAT and Special Investigations, the suspect was located and taken into custody on July 8, 2026. He has since been booked into Pierce County Jail on charges of first-degree murder.
