TALLAHASSEE, Fla. ~ TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - In a recent announcement, Governor Ron DeSantis has appointed Chad Mizelle and reappointed Michael Carrere, Rogan Donelly, and Lauran Monbarren to the University of South Florida Board of Trustees.

Mizelle brings a wealth of experience to the board, having previously served as the Chief of Staff for United States Attorney General Pam Bondi. He also held positions as the Chief Legal Officer of Affinity Partners, Chief of Staff and Acting General Counsel for the Department of Homeland Security, Associate Counsel at The White House, and Chair of the Florida Elections Commission. Mizelle holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Florida and a juris doctor from Cornell University.

Carrere, who is currently retired, has an impressive background in business. He previously served as the Chief Executive Officer of Lykes Brothers, Inc. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Carrere has also been actively involved in his community. He served on the Northeast Bank of Clearwater Board of Directors, the American Meat Institute Board of Directors, and the Florida Citrus Commission. Carrere earned his bachelor's degree from Washington and Lee University.

Donelly is another accomplished individual joining the board. He currently serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Tervis Tumbler Company. Donelly is also dedicated to giving back to his community through his involvement as a Trustee at Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium. In 2020, he was recognized with the University of South Florida's Outstanding Alumni Award. Donelly holds a bachelor's degree from Bowdoin College and a master's degree in business administration from the University of South Florida.

Monbarren brings her expertise in finance to the board as she serves as Chief Financial Officer and Vice President at Simpson Environmental Services and Simpson Farms. She previously worked as an Administrator at Pasco-Hernando State College and as a Teacher in the Pasco County School District. Monbarren holds a bachelor's degree in elementary education and a master's degree in education leadership from Saint Leo University.

These appointments are still subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate. Once confirmed, Mizelle, Carrere, Donelly, and Monbarren will join the University of South Florida Board of Trustees and contribute their diverse backgrounds and experiences to help guide the university towards continued success.
