Governor Polis Announces SelectTech Expansion at Space Symposium, Strengthening Colorado's Aerospace and Defense Industry
Rezul News/10732698
COLORADO SPRINGS – Today, at the Space Symposium, Governor Polis and the Global Business Development Division of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) announced that aerospace company SelectTech Services Corporation has chosen El Paso County for expansion. A small business headquartered in Ohio, SelectTech's expansion in Colorado will support the growth of its Department of War-related business activities.
"Thanks to Colorado's pro-business environment and highly educated workforce and high quality of living, more and more aerospace and defense companies are calling Colorado home. We are thrilled to welcome SelectTech, which will create 150 new good-paying jobs in Colorado's growing aerospace sector," said Governor Polis.
SelectTech is a mission-driven company supporting the U.S. military and its partners through innovative manufacturing solutions along with design, integration and technical support services for air- and ground-based products. The company selected El Paso County, Colorado, for its proximity to government clients, including the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Space Force, as well as original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) within the aerospace industry. Additionally, the region's specialized talent within the aviation industry will advance SelectTech's commitment to key capability development.
"Our growth is about more than adding square footage or a headcount; it's about investing in people and a place," said Heather Fattah, President and CEO of SelectTech. "El Paso County stood out to us as the right place to grow our small business because it's a community that prioritizes its people, long-term partnerships and responsible growth over rapid scale. We're excited to build a workforce where our employees can establish meaningful careers while contributing to the long-term success of the region in aerospace manufacturing and mission-critical capabilities."

SelectTech expects to create a minimum of 150 net new jobs at an average annual wage of $85,927, which is 126% of the average annual wage in El Paso County. Positions will include engineers and technicians, as well as buyers, managers, planners, and technical writers.
"SelectTech's decision to expand in Colorado underscores our state's leadership in the aerospace and defense sectors and our ability to provide a specialized, highly skilled workforce. We are thrilled to see 150 new, high-paying jobs come to El Paso County. This project is a win for our economy and further solidifies Colorado's reputation as a critical hub for national security and innovation," said OEDIT Executive Director Eve Lieberman.
To support the company's expansion in Colorado, the Colorado Economic Development Commission approved up to $1,978,673 in a performance-based Job Growth Incentive Tax Credit for the company over an eight-year period. These incentives are contingent upon SelectTech, referred to as Project Oak throughout the OEDIT review process, meeting net new job creation and salary requirements.
"SelectTech's expansion reflects the intentional work happening across our region and is a clear signal that El Paso County continues to lead aerospace and defense growth at a national level," said Bonnie Goff, Vice President of Economic Development for the Colorado Springs Chamber & Economic Development Corporation. "El Paso County's strong leadership and commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment—combined with our proximity to critical military missions and a highly skilled workforce—make the Pikes Peak region the right place for companies focused on innovation and national security. We're proud to support SelectTech's growth and welcome their team to our community."
"We are proud to welcome SelectTech to El Paso County as they expand their operations in our region," said Lauren Nelson, El Paso County Commissioner. "Their investment brings high‑quality jobs, strengthens our defense and aerospace economy, and reflects the confidence employers have in the skilled workforce and pro‑business environment we've built here. El Paso County is committed to supporting our nation's defense partners as they provide such an important service to our citizens."
