Governor Abbott Touts Texas' Legislative Wins At The Greater Waco Chamber Of Commerce Luncheon

~ Governor Greg Abbott took the stage at the Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce "State of the State" luncheon today to highlight the legislative successes of the 89th Legislature. In his speech, Governor Abbott praised the efforts of Texas in becoming a top state for business development, job opportunities, and exports.
"We are working together to shape the Texas economy and maintain our position as the best state for doing business," said Governor Abbott. He also expressed his gratitude towards the Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce, small business owners, and innovators who contribute to making Texas a resilient and strong state.
The Governor was joined by several local and state officials and business leaders including Representative David Cook, Representative Pat Curry, Representative Angelia Orr, McLennan County Judge Scott Felton, McLennan County Sheriff Parnell McNamara, and Waco Mayor Jim Holmes.

During his speech, Governor Abbott discussed Texas' successful economic development agenda that will continue to drive growth across the state. He acknowledged the role played by the Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce in making Waco a thriving community that is an integral part of Texas' economic success. The Governor also emphasized that Texas will continue to prioritize its reputation as a top state for business and take strategic actions to support small businesses.
Governor Abbott also highlighted the progress made by the Texas Legislature on emergency items outlined in his State of the State address. He mentioned that laws passed during this session have reduced red tape, lowered property taxes, strengthened Texas' electric grid, and provided school choice for families to choose their children's education pathway. The Governor concluded his remarks by promising to continue fighting for the safety of Texas children and eagerly awaiting signing camp safety legislation into law.
