Governor Abbott Names Bernal Chair Of The Texas State Board Of Social Worker Examiners

~ In a recent announcement, Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Jason Bernal as the new chair of the Texas State Board of Social Worker Examiners. Bernal, who hails from New Braunfels, will serve in this role for a term that will expire at the pleasure of the Governor. The Board is responsible for overseeing and regulating the practice of social work in the state of Texas.

Bernal brings a wealth of experience to this position, having served as the director of development and provider relations at Genesis Doctors. He is also a Navy Reserve Medical Services Corps Officer at Brooke Army Medical Center. In addition, Bernal holds positions as a healthcare representative for both the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society.

With his extensive background in healthcare and leadership roles, Bernal is well-equipped to lead the Texas State Board of Social Worker Examiners in its mission to regulate social work practices across the state.
