~ Burleson, Texas - Governor Greg Abbott has congratulated the City of Burleson for being designated as a Tourism Friendly Texas Certified Community by Travel Texas. This recognition comes after the city successfully completed a multi-step certification process.
The Tourism Friendly Texas Certified Community designation is a testament to Burleson's commitment to developing tourism as an economic growth strategy. It also aims to boost local job creation and attract more visitors from across the nation and around the world.
Governor Abbott emphasized the importance of tourism to both the local and state economies, stating that travelers to and within Texas generate almost $200 billion in annual economic impact and support 1.3 million jobs across the state. He encouraged all Texas communities to apply for this certification in order to further grow local tourism and create more jobs.
Senator Phil King also expressed his pride in Burleson's achievement, stating that it is not only a great place to live and work but also a welcoming destination for visitors with genuine Texas hospitality. He praised the city for seamlessly blending small-town warmth with big opportunities.
